Welcome back, friends! I hope you’ve all been doing well 🙂 If you follow me on Instagram, you already know that I recently had lip filler in Sarasota, Florida, done by Dr. Francesca Walters! Many of you ladies were curious about more in-depth details on the procedure so I thought I’d recap the specifics in a short blog post.
Lip Filler in Sarasota – Mandala MedSpa/Sarasota Institute of Plastic Surgery
I arrived at Dr. Walters’ office and was greeted by a smiling receptionist! A few minutes later, Francesa came out to greet me. I was so excited to meet her because we have been chatting as friends on Instagram for a few months! She brought me back to her adorable office, and we started talking about my expectations for the procedure. We both agreed we would go for a full, but natural look for my lips, so Dr. Walters decided on one full syringe of Juvederm Vollure to enhance my lips, which is what she uses in her own lips.
From there, she coated my lips with numbing cream and I filled out all the necessary paperwork. We were able to get in some great girl talk while we waited for my lips to get numb, and let me tell you, she is every bit as sweet and gorgeous as she looks on Instagram! Just look at how cute she is in her signature hot pink gloves!
After I was nice and numb, we were ready to get started with the injections. Dr. Walters uses the cannula technique when doing lip injections, which minimizes bruising and swelling. The injection was a bit painful, I’m not going to lie, but it was all over in about 15 minutes, and after all, beauty is sometimes pain! When we were done, I couldn’t have been happier with my immediate results. They were a bit sore and swollen right after the procedure as you can tell from the picture below, but I was so happy with the shape.
Lip Filler Aftercare
As far as aftercare, Dr. Walters advised me to keep icing my lips for the next few days and to avoid working out just on the day of the procedure. Otherwise, I was free to go back to my normal life the next day!
I’ve had my lips done a few times now so I have been to injectors that do and do not use the cannula technique. After my procedure, I noticed a huge difference in how much less bruising and swelling I experienced in my lips with the cannula technique as opposed to the needle technique. I will definitely be requesting ONLY the cannula technique going forward.
Before and After
Of course, I have to share my before and after photos because I know that’s what you all came here for! You can expect for all your swelling to be gone around the 2-week mark. I’m not quite there yet, but my lips are looking and feeling great!
I HIGHLY recommend Dr. Walters for all your injectable needs. She is definitely a perfectionist, and that’s exactly what you want when someone is altering your face! Check out her Instagram here for more before and after photos. You can reach her office at (941) 927-2447 to make an appointment or send them a message on their website here! BONUS: If you tell her I sent you, you get 20% off your procedure!!!!
Thanks so much for stopping by guys! As always, feel free to reach out if you have any questions. I’m happy to chat with you. Until next time, I’m just living my best lip life thanks to Dr. Walters! 🙂
