It’s been a while since I’ve written a life recap type of blog and today I was inspired by my friend Gina to share as a part of What’s Up Wednesday! So if you’re interested in what I’ve been up to in July, check it out 🙂
First up are my new favorite dresses! I purchased them at PACSUN while they were on BOGO, so I snagged them both for a total of $30
I ended up getting the black dress in a size small since black is a more forgiving color. I decided on a medium in the blush dress for a flowier fit since light colors tend to emphasize the belly and hip area. They are no longer BOGO but at just $26 each, I still think they are a great deal. I also snagged this initial necklace and hoop earrings from Forever 21 for under $10 total! I wear my staple watch and sunglasses almost daily, and while they are a little bit more pricey, they are totally worth it.
So that’s what I’m wearing, on to what else is going on in my life!
What I’m eating: PJ and I are currently trying to get back on track with our eating habits after our free-for-all weekend in Orlando. For me, that means lots of chicken, tuna and fish, veggies and minimal carbs. For PJ that is cutting out sweets and fried food. He needs more healthy carbs to keep him full so he will do more rice and quinoa than me.
What I’ve been up to: June and July were a whirlwind of foodie influencer events and we also visited Orlando last weekend. We really had a blast with our best friends at the Aloft hotel, Epcot and trying all the yummy restaurants the downtown area had to offer.
What I’m loving: Food/Beverage-wise, I’m currently loving the Ocean Spray diet sparkling cranberry juices. They’ve got more flavor than La Croix, have zero calories, and are great alone or mixed with a little vodka 😉
As far as fashion-wise, it looks like asymmetry is going to be a big trend going into fall and winter and your girl is HERE FOR IT! Currently obsessing over these 3 tops from Express.
What I’m dreading: I mentioned last week on IG that I will be losing my social media job. The company I was contracting for has had a rough year and simply cannot afford my services any longer so they decided to move everything in-house. So I’m dreading looking for a new part-time job to make up for the loss in income. I’m hopeful for what I will find though!
What I’m excited about: Travel always excites me! I’m super excited about our 3-year anniversary trip to Savannah in October 🙂 we have rented the cutest little Airbnb in the heart of the historic district so we will be able to walk everywhere and soak up all the southern charm.
What I’m watching: My friend Noelle recently turned me onto the show Cults & Extreme Beliefs on Hulu and so far it’s CRAZY. Each episode focuses on a different cult and I’m finding it very interesting.
What I’m Reading: At the moment I’m reading What You Did by Claire McGowan which was the book I picked from the free “Amazon First Reads” selections for July. It started out with a bang so it really got my attention. It’s not moving along quite as fast as it began but I’m still invested and will probably be finishing it over the next few days. I have my next book already downloaded for when I finish, which is November 9 by Colleen Hoover.
What I’m listening to: I’m still stuck on my Lord Huron station on Pandora. If you like indie rock it’s got a lot of songs from the Shakey Graves, the Head & the Heart, Hozier, Mumford & Sons, and similar artists.
What I’m doing this weekend: As many of you know I work at a golf course during the day on Saturdays. So on a typical Saturday, we may or may not go out at night. It usually just depends on how tired I feel when I get home. I did see a popular food truck that I’ve never tried, Vanchetta, is going to be at Calusa Brewery this Saturday so we may stop by. Sunday we are going Busch Gardens, one of my favorite theme parks. PJ has never been before so I’m excited to take him and see all the animals! I love the elephants, giraffes and big cats.
What I’m looking forward to next month: The month of August should be a little quieter than the rest of the summer. I’ve got way fewer events coming up so I should be able to buckle down and focus on job hunting. I also am super pumped for fall to start so I’m probably going to start doing some fall crafts to prepare for the season. Do you like to craft? Do you have any ideas for crafts I should try? I’ll share what I do if they aren’t epic fails LOL
