Memorial Day weekend is a time for graduation parties, beach days and barbecues. I’m excited about it since it’s basically the kick off to summer! Because I will be out of town during this time, I’ve already been online shopping and starting to plan my Memorial Day weekend attire. I thought I’d share some of my top outfit picks for all the different activities you may need to participate in too! I’m sticking to a red, white, and blue theme here, but many of these pieces are available in other colors too, so just a heads up if you’re not feeling super patriotic the entire weekend.
Graduation or Graduation Party
First up I’ve linked a few graduation and graduation guest dresses. These are both semi-dressy pieces that can be dressed up or down, and are perfect to go from the graduation ceremony to a graduation party by swapping out heels for some cute sandals!
First up is a shift mini-dress which is super youthful and very figure-flattering since it flows away from the body, and can hide even the most obvious food baby. I love the bright blue color and it would be so light and breezy for a warm Florida day. The next dress has a little more interest with a fitted top, flowy bottom and off the shoulder sleeves. I discovered this dress after I saw it on another blogger that I follow, and it is a much more subtle blue in person, so it’s not quite as “in your face” bright as the photo. It comes in a bright red color too which would also be great for the holiday or 4th of July. I think it’s a steal coming in at only $39.99 ANDDDD the blogger, Katy, has a 10% off coupon code which is Katy10. So, if you order it with standard shipping, it’s basically like getting the shipping for free!
My next picks are two maxi dresses that I think would be appropriate to wear to a barbecue. The first dress isn’t on theme with the other Memorial Day weekend attire colors, however, I really like the style and it fits with my perennial comfy/casual aesthetic. The second dress is an Express dress which I already own in a grey. I love the red and white stripes for Memorial Day and it basically feels like you’re wearing pajamas. So it’s really a win-win. Watch for it to go on sale this coming week because Express usually runs 40% off of everything before major holidays.
Beach/Chill Memorial Day Weekend Attire
Living in Florida it would be sacrilege if I didn’t mention some form of beach attire. Hopefully, the weather holds out and you can squeeze in a beach day or two on your long weekend like I want to do when we get back in town Monday afternoon. These two rompers/playsuits can take you from the beach to the tiki bar in style and comfort. The first ensemble is a pretty blue spaghetti strap playsuit. I love rompers and dresses for the beach and just in general because they are so easy to slip on and off. I feel like you could really dress this look up with some stilettos and accessories for a date night out too. The second item is ultimately comfy and casual, which if you can’t tell, are pretty much my standards when it comes to everyday fashion. After checking out several of the reviews, it sounds like this romper runs short, so while it would be great for the petite ladies out there, it wouldn’t work for someone like me who has a long torso.
So are you curious which of these items I ordered? You’ll have to stay tuned to my Instagram feed to find out my official Memorial Day weekend attire! Next up, I’m going to do a side dish recipe round up to give you some ideas on what to take to that Memorial Day Barbecue. As always, thanks so much for stopping by! Can’t wait to share more soon.
