So if you’ve been following me for a little while now, you know how big I am on basics, and if you can’t tell, I really like dark and neutral colors. Once in a while, I will dabble into the world of bright color, but for the most part, I am always drawn back to the black in my wardrobe. Black is just so versatile, it’s sleek and slimming but also clean and fresh and it goes with everything. I’m going to share with you 3 recent date night looks I’ve worn that are the staples you can use to add just about any accessory, shoe or bag to and make it a home run!
Black Polka Dot Dress
I bought this dress on a whim from a boutique that was new to me that I discovered on Instagram. It was a long shot for me not knowing how this particular boutique’s sizing works but I keep seeing polka dot dresses popping up everywhere recently and I really wanted one that would be figure flattering for my body type. I think this is actually my new favorite dress. It’s a bit more revealing on me than on the model (lower cut/shorter) but I love the fact that it flows away from the places I don’t necessarily like to emphasize. Overall I’m giving this a 10/10! It’s still super warm here in Florida but I would rock a leather jacket with this and some cute booties as the weather cools off here in the next few months. I have a feeling this one will sell out so if you’re thinking about it, go buy it!
Wine Ruffle Wrap Romper
Okay, so I first spotted this romper during the Nordstrom sale but it was sold out of the size and color I wanted the whole time! I liked it so much I paid full price for it after it had been restocked when the sale was over. Unfortunately, it’s no longer available even for full price, but I have seen a lot of pieces like this popping up all over. I found one in black that doesn’t have the ruffle, but the lines of the piece are very similar, including the side tie and skirted front. That one also comes in white which would be really cute for summer, or winter if you’re the kind of person that’s not opposed to wearing white after Labor Day. I’m thinking this would be cute with a tan suede jacket or cardigan to transition into fall! Find the similar look here.
Black Cut Out Romper
So I got this romper back in February around my birthday as a treat yo’ self present. I ordered it online like I do most things, so I never really know what to expect as far as sizing, especially when I haven’t ever owned anything from that particular brand before. Size 4 ended up being just right for me. I have worn this now countless times. I’ve worn it with flat sandals to lunch or with heels and jewelry to nice dinners and nights out. It’s very versatile and I like that about all my pieces. This is currently on sale for about $80 less than I originally paid for it earlier in the year. You can find it here.
Did you notice how all these looks are one piece? I love rompers and dresses because they are like an instant outfit and they don’t require a ton of thought as far as matching tops and bottoms together! What are your go-to date night or night out looks?
